Grodnau is a part of the market town of Mariasdorf in Burgenland , Oberwart district , Austria .

Grodnau is originally a Slavic-German settlement at the foot of the Bernstein Mountains. The Grodnaubach flows through the village. Grodnau is located in the middle of a forest and meadow landscape at 413 m above sea level. There are bike paths and the area is suitable for hiking.

The place is a narrow anger village and has about 350 inhabitants.

The small church Herz Jesu was built in 1958 from donations. Until then, Grodnau only had a wooden bell tower with a bell.

From 1659 to 1854, the village was part of the Pinkafeld rule for most of the time .
