The Grone is an approximately 6 km long, left or western tributary of the Leine in the urban area of Göttingen ( Lower Saxony ).

Gronespring

The stream rises at the Gronespring below or to the east of the district of Hetjershausen , flows through the district of Grone , crosses the industrial area and passes the Levin Park , whose ponds it feeds. It flows into the Leine coming from the south below or north of the Hagenberg and east of the Holtenser Berg ( 174  m above sea level ).

The name originally means "Green Aue". It was transferred to the Palatinate Grona and the district.
