The Victor mine was a non-ferrous metal ore mine in the Bensberg ore district in Rösrath in the Hopesthal district . The Victor mine stretched in the Königsforst between Lehmbach and Tütberg.
history
The terrain shows clear traces that point to centuries-old mining . The " Société Anonyme des Mines et Fonderies de Zinc de la Vieille-Montagne ", founded in 1837 by the Belgian banker and industrialist François-Dominique Mosselman , submitted an application for lead and copper ores on June 15, 1853 . The award did not take place until 1865 (exact date not known). Then there is a letter from the Aktien-Gesellschaft für Bergbau, Lead- und Zinkfabrikation zu Stolberg and in Westphalia to the Royal Revierbeamten Bergrat Buff zu Deutz dated February 4, 1890 in the files of the Elberfeld mine . This refers to experimental work in the Victor mine , which on September 2, 1889 were ordered by the mining authority over a 13 meter deep shaft . It remains unclear what results were achieved at the Victor mine.
Operation and facilities
Nothing is known about the operation of the mine because so far no written documents have been found. In the area there are several heaps , pings and broken tunnel mouth holes .
