The Grunnelbach is a 7.5 km long stream in Kassel - Niederzwehren .
The Grunnelbach flows from the west of Oberzwehren through the historic center of Niederzwehren. In the east it finally flows into the Fulda . Its catchment area is 24.143 km².
The Grunnelbach is made up of the Krebs, Dönche and Heisebach and is sometimes accompanied by a cycle path, the German fairy tale cycle path. The Grunnelbach is canalised in the center of the village. Outside this area, the stream is lined with green and therefore has a locally significant recreational value.
