Location of Guériel in Niger

Guériel is a village in the rural community of Dargol in Niger .

The village, led by a traditional local chief ( chef traditionnel ), is located around 17 kilometers southeast of Dargol, the capital of the rural community of the same name, which belongs to the Gothèye department in the Tillabéri region. Guériel is located on the right bank of the Dargol River . The larger villages in the area include Bangou Tara in the north and Dartchandé in the northeast.

Guériel was one of those places in what is now Niger, where after the fall of the Songhai Oak's 1591 in Songhai -Flüchtlinge under a descendant of the dynasty Askia settled.

At the 2012 census, Guériel had 1,160 inhabitants who lived in 138 households. At the 2001 census, the population was 1,821 in 223 households, and at the 1988 census, the population was 2,433 in 240 households.
