Gu Guangming ( Chinese 古 廣 明 , Pinyin Gǔ Guǎngmíng ; in German mostly written Guangming Gu ; born January 31, 1959 ) is a Chinese former football player .
The first German station Gus was the TuS Koblenz . In 1987 he moved to SV Darmstadt 98 . On July 22, 1987, he made his debut as the first Chinese in German professional football. In the match at 1. FC Saarbrücken , he came on in the 34th minute for Rafael Sanchez ; shortly before the end of the game he scored his first goal to make it 2-0 for the "lilies". For Darmstadt he played in attacking midfield and attacking in the second division until 1992 . In 108 second division games he scored 8 goals and got the red card twice.
Gu played with the national team in the qualifying round for the 1980 Olympic Games , but the matches are not counted as A internationals by FIFA. He was also an integral part of the Chinese squad in the qualifying games for the soccer world championships in 1982 and 1986 . In 1992 he played in Beijing for China under coach Klaus Schlappner in a tournament game against North Korea .
