Gudrun Elisabeth Brendel-Fischer (born June 17, 1959 in Bayreuth ) is a German politician ( CSU ).

Job and family

After completing secondary school at the Richard-Wagner-Gymnasium in 1975, Brendel-Fischer trained as a specialist teacher for nutrition and design. After the two-year qualifying period, she taught in the districts of Kulmbach, Kronach and Bayreuth from 1983. From 1985 to 2007 she was also a seminar leader for subject teachers. Since April 2011 she has headed the Upper Franconian District Association for Horticulture and Land Care.

Brendel-Fischer is Protestant. She is married and has two daughters (* 1987, * 1990). She lives with her family on a farm in Heinersreuth -Tannenbach, which is run by her husband.

Brendel-Fischer joined the Junge Union in 1974. She was also involved in the German rural youth and in the federal youth association . Since 1985 she has been a member of the CSU and the Women's Union .

She was a member of the local council of her home community in Heinersreuth from 1990 to 2008. She has been a district councilor in the Bayreuth district since 2008 . In May 2015, she succeeded Hartmut Koschyk as chairwoman of the CSU district association Bayreuth-Land. In January 2007 she was able to move up for Henry Schramm in the Bavarian state parliament . There she is a member of the Committee on Family and Social Affairs and the Committee on Food, Agriculture and Forestry. On January 14th, 2009, Brendel-Fischer was elected in Wildbad Kreuth as the new chairman of the women working group of the CSU parliamentary group in the Bavarian state parliament. She became Ursula Männle's successor .

In the 2013 state election she was directly elected to the state parliament in the Bayreuth constituency with 42.68 percent of the first votes. She has been deputy chairman of the CSU parliamentary group since the 17th electoral term . Brendel-Fischer is also a member of the Committee for Education and Culture.

On March 21, 2018, she was appointed honorary officer of the Bavarian State Government , and on November 27, 2018, she was appointed by the Council of Ministers as acting integration officer .
