Gudrun Kemsa

Gudrun Kemsa (born February 12, 1961 in Datteln ) is a German photographer and video artist .

life and work

From 1980 to 1990 Kemsa studied at the State Art Academy in Düsseldorf with Karl Bobek and David Rabinowitch , and since 1985 she has been a master class student. From 1997 to 1999 she had a teaching position for photography at the Bergische Universität GH Wuppertal , from 2000 to 2001 she was a lecturer for photography / film / AV at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences (until 2001: Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences), Krefeld . Kemsa has been teaching there since 2001 as a professor for "Moving Images and Photography".

In her photo works and videos, Kemsa addresses the perception of time in an urban context. For example, she depicts people moving in public space or assembling film sequences of city trips so that the city seems to be in motion.

Gudrun Kemsa lives and works in Düsseldorf .
