Gudrun Perko

Gudrun Perko (born December 16, 1962 in Knappenberg , Carinthia ) is an Austrian philosopher , university professor and mediator .

Life

Gudrun Perko attended the Academy for Social Work of the City of Vienna from 1982 to 1985 and graduated with a diploma. From 1986 she studied philosophy at the University of Vienna and in 1996 she worked with Franz Martin Wimmer with a dissertation on fear in excess. Philosophical Reflections on designs of fear in terms of gender relations with distinction for doctor of philosophy doctorate . From 1982 to 2000 Perko worked in various areas of social work such as youth centers, psychosocial service and biography work with women. From 1997 until she took up her professorship at the Potsdam University of Applied Sciences in 2010, she mainly worked as a freelance lecturer at the Institute for Philosophy and Sociology at the University of Vienna, Alice Salomon University Berlin , as a mediator and as a trainer in adult education. Perko began publishing and conducting research projects in 1993. She has published both political and philosophical works, including on queer theory , where she established the plural queer approach, as well as textbooks and handbooks on gender / queer, social justice and diversity.

In 1996 Gudrun Perko founded the Institute for Science Coaching, Philosophical Further Education and Mediation and, after further training at the Alice Salomon University, also worked as a freelance conflict mediator . Inspired by the “Diversity and Social Justice Education” model developed at the University of Massachusetts , together with Leah Carola Czollek and Heike Weinbach , she designed her own social justice and diversity training for the German-speaking area in 2001 with the focus on diversity as an answer to structural discrimination in favor of inclusion and participation. In 2005, together with Leah Carola Czollek and Heike Weinbach, they founded the Institute Social Justice and Diversity , which provides training for specialists in social institutions, employees of companies, organizations and institutions, students, etc. in cooperation with the DGB-Bildungswerk , Alice-Salomon , among others -Hochschule Berlin and since 2012 the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam . While the educational and training concept was initially based on the Teaching for Diversity and Social Justice concept developed in the USA (Maurianne Adams, Lee Anne Bell, Pat Griffin 1997), many years of intensive occupation with the topic resulted in many Changes, specifications and, above all, updates made in the context of the Federal Republic of Germany.
