Guggenbühl (colloquially Guggi ) is a district of the city of Winterthur . Together with the districts of Talacker , Grüze , Hegmatten , Hegi , Zinzikon , Reutlingen , Stadel and Ricketwil , it forms district 2 ( Oberwinterthur ).

Surname

The quarter is named after Hermann Guggenbühl, who, as head of the development and quarter plan office, developed the development plan for the quarter in 1948.

Neighborhood structure

The Guggenbühl district is a residential area characterized by apartment blocks and simple single-family houses. Many properties in the quarter are owned by housing associations . Two traffic axes cut through the quarter: Stadlerstrasse and the Oberwinterthur-Seuzach railway line. The quarter has around 5900 inhabitants. 34% of the population are of foreign nationality. 14% of the population are of senior age.

As a residential area, Guggenbühl has little infrastructure and hardly any shops.
