Guido Fischer (born November 3, 1901 in Aarau ; † March 11, 1972 ibid, reformed , resident in Aarau and Meisterschwanden ) was a Swiss painter , draftsman , graphic artist and glass painter .

Life

Guido Fischer was born on November 3, 1901 in Aarau as the son of goldsmith Jonathan Fischer and Burger, who was born in Fanny. Fischer studied painting between 1920 and 1921 in Paris , from 1922 in Munich , from 1923 to 1925 at the Kunstgewerbeschule Basel and finally until 1929 at various Paris academies.

As a result, Fischer lived again in Aarau, where he worked as a freelance painter, draftsman, graphic artist and glass painter. In addition, he worked from 1941 to 1970 as curator of the Aargau art collection, which he expanded. From 1959 he was in charge of the new Aargauer Kunsthaus in Aarau, which he significantly supported . From 1952 to 1961 he was the central president of the Society of Swiss Painters, Sculptors and Architects.

Guido Fischer campaigned for the Swiss art preservation, especially that of the Aargau . His artistic oeuvre includes etchings , lithographs , sgraffitis , wall paintings and mosaics , figurines, portraits, landscapes and still lifes .

Guido Fischer married Ida nee Zulauf in 1924. He died on March 11, 1972, four months after turning 70 in Aarau, the city of his birth.
