Guido Wemans

Guido Wemans (born January 30, 1938 in Zurich ; † May 5, 2014 in Basel ) was a Swiss politician and journalist .

Wemans received neither a teaching nor a university degree, but acquired specialist skills during his astronomy and experimental physics studies at the University of Basel , which he used as a commentator on Swiss radio, particularly on the topics of space and astronomy. Wemans was also involved in setting up the Basel private radio station Radio Basilisk .

When asked by Roger Blum and René Rhinow , Wemans joined the FDP and from 1977 was a member of the district administrator. In the Baselbieter FDP he worked as a member of the party leadership and election campaign leader.

Guido Wemans had two children from his first marriage. For the last few years he lived in Hochwald and Himmelried in the canton of Solothurn .
