Guilherme Fausto da Cunha Bastos (born October 27, 1945 in Rio de Janeiro ) is a former Brazilian diplomat .

Life

Guilherme Fausto da Cunha Bastos is the son of Jurá Fausto Bastos and Guilherme da Cunha Bastos. In 1969 he received a Bachelor of Laws from the Universidade Federal Fluminense and completed the Curso de Gerenciamento de Recursos Humanos , as well as the Curso de Preparação para a Carreira Diplomática of the Rio Branco Institute and was employed at the Fundação Getulio Vargas .

On January 14, 1970, in recognition of his services, he was appointed third-class legation secretary and a year later sent to Santo Domingo as legation secretary . From 1971 to 1973 he headed the budget department and on January 1, 1973 he was appointed secretary of the second class. Following this, Bastos had been appointed consul in New York City from 1973 to 1974 and headed the trade department of the embassy in Washington, DC as a successor from 1975 to 1976

Bastos was deployed as second class delegation secretary from 1976 to 1978 in Tel Aviv , where he also held the position of chargé d'affaires in 1978 and was promoted to first class delegation secretary on December 12, 1978.

By 1980 Bastos completed the Curso de Prática Diplomática e Consular of the Rio Branco Institute , the Curso de Planejamento, Orçamento e Organização Administrativa of the Fundação Getúlio Vargas , the Curso de Mestrado em Política of the New York University and was part of the Curso de Alto Estudios presented the study O controle da gestão no Ministério das Relações Exteriores .
