Guillermo De los Santos , full name Guillermo Daniel De los Santos Viana (born February 9, 1992 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .
Career
society
According to his club, the defender, who is 1.80 meters tall and named Guille , comes from the youth department of Club Atlético Cerro , for which he played at least in 2009. He was since the Apertura 2010 in the squad of the first team competing in the Primera División . In his first season in the Clausura 2011 he has already made nine appearances in Uruguay's top division, in which he is only once off the starting line-up. He scored a goal. De los Santos, who has since become a regular player, completed a total of 60 first division games by the end of the 2012/13 season, in which he scored nine times in the opposing goal. On June 19, 2013, the announcement of his change for the new season to league competitor Nacional took place . De los Santos joined the Bolsos initially for a year on loan with an option to buy. At the end of September 2015, he tore a cruciate ligament in the first division meeting with Villa Teresa . After a six-month injury break was forecast, he was first used in a league game at the end of April 2016. This was followed by 14 further premier league appearances (one goal) in the 2016 season. In the 2017 season he was used 19 times in the Primera División and twice in the 2017 Copa Sudamericana - each without a personal goal . At the beginning of August 2017, Universidad Católica del Ecuador signed him on loan.
National team
De los Santos was part of the Uruguayan squad for the 2011 U-20 World Cup . There he was used by coach Juan Verzeri in all three games with Uruguayan participation. In the same year he took part in the 2011 Pan American Games with the Uruguayan soccer team. There he won the bronze medal with the Celeste. In the group stage he was used in the 1-0 victory over Ecuador and in the 5-2 defeat against Mexico, as well as in the 1-0 semi-final defeat against the Argentine selection. In addition, De los Santos was called up by coach Óscar Tabárez in March 2012 in the squad of the Olympic team (U-23) and was used in a friendly against the U-20 of the country.
