Guillermo Méndez , full name Guillermo Andrés Méndez Aguilera , (born August 26, 1994 in Paysandú ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

society

The 1.80 meter tall midfielder Méndez was in the ranks of the junior team of the Uruguayan first division club Nacional Montevideo until 2012 . In 2012 he moved to Belgium to Standard Liege . In the 2012/13 season he was not used in the Pro League and joined VV St. Truiden on loan during the season . By the end of the season he was used there eight times in the second division and scored one goal. In the 2013/14 season he ran eleven more times in the league, scored two goals and was then passed on loan to the Spanish club AD Alcorcón in 2014 within the current season . There he played a game (no goal) in the Liga Adelante until the end of the season . In June 2014 he ended his engagement there. Further appearances in professional football in the 2014/15 season and beyond are initially not recorded. At the beginning of 2016 he then joined Bella Vista in Uruguayan amateur football. In mid-August 2016, he moved to Unión de Santa Fe in Argentina. From 2018 to 2019 he played for Unión de Sunchales and has been without a club since then.

National team

Méndez was a member of the Uruguayan U-15 team coached by Fabián Coito , who participated in the U-15 South American Championship in Bolivia in 2009 and finished fourth. He was in the squad of the Uruguayan U-17 selection at the U-17 South American Championship 2011 in Ecuador . He also took part with her at the 2011 U-17 World Cup in Mexico . He contributed with two goals in seven missions to win the runner-up world title.
