Gunnar Heiberg
Gunnar Edvard Rode Heiberg (born November 18, 1857 in Oslo (then Christiania ), † February 22, 1929 ibid) was a Norwegian playwright and journalist .
Influenced by Henrik Ibsen and Émile Zola , Heiberg devoted himself to theater in the movement of Expressionism . His provocative intentions resulted in several performances of his plays being booed. His better-known pieces include Aunt Ulrikke (1884), Kong Midas (1890), Balkonen (1894) and Kjærlighedens Tragedie (1904).
From 1882 he worked temporarily as a journalist and theater critic for Norwegian newspapers such as Dagbladet or Verdens Gang . From 1884 to 1888 he directed the theater Den Nationale Scene in Bergen .
