Gunnar Volkmann

Gunnar Volkmann (born May 19, 1958 in Duisburg ) is a German architect .

Career

Gunnar Volkmann was born in Duisburg in 1958. 1974–1975 he spent a year at school in Seattle , USA . In 1978 he began studying architecture at the University of Dortmund with Josef Paul Kleihues . In 1981 he switched to Bernhard Hoesli at the ETH Zurich and received his diploma in architecture from Gottfried Böhm at the RWTH Aachen in 1985 .

After a short period in the Volkmann office in Duisburg, Gunnar Volkmann worked in the Suter + Suter Architects office in Düsseldorf from 1986 to 1989 and in their Basel office from 1989 to 1991 . In 1991 he took over the office management and the power of attorney for the office in Lörrach and moved to Leipzig in 1993 , where he also took over the office management for the office there. Since 1995 Gunnar Volkmann has been managing director of Weis & Volkmann in Leipzig together with Gabriele Weis, from 2014 under Weis & Volkmann Berlin GmbH in Leipzig and Berlin. In 2016 the name was changed to W&V Architekten GmbH.
