(961) Gunnie is an asteroid of the main belt , which on October 10 in 1921 by German astronomer Karl Wilhelm Reinmuth in Heidelberg was discovered.

The asteroid is named after the daughter of the same name of the Swedish astronomer Bror Ansgar Asplind .
