Gurpreet Singh Sandhu (born February 3, 1992 in Chamkaur Sahib , Punjab ) is an Indian soccer player . He has been under contract with Bengaluru FC since 2017 . He is the team captain of the Indian national team .
Career
Beginnings in India
Gurpreet Singh Sandhu began his active career with Kingfisher East Bengal . From 2010 to 2011 it was awarded to Pailan Arrows . In 2012 he completed a trial training session at the then English Premier League club Wigan Athletic .
Stabæk Fotball in Norway
In August 2014, Singh moved to the Norwegian first division to Stabæk Fotball and made his debut on April 22, 2015 in a 6-0 win in the first round match of the Norwegian cup competition against the second division runar IL . He is always the first Indian player to play in a competitive game for a European first division club, a game in a top division in Europe (5-0 win on matchday 13 of the 2016 Tippeligaen season against Start Kristiansand ) and in a game of a European Club competition (first leg of the first qualifying round for the UEFA Europa League against Connah's Quay , 0-0) was used. In August 2017 he left Stabæk Fotball and returned to India.
Return to India
In August 2017, he joined Bengaluru FC .
