Gustav Adolf Goldberg
Gustav Adolf Goldberg (born June 19, 1848 in Crefeld ; † May 8, 1911 ) was a German painter .
Life
Goldberg was a student of Wilhelm von Kaulbach , Arthur von Ramberg , Carl Theodor von Piloty , Alexander von Wagner and Andreas Müller at the Munich Academy . Occasionally he had public exhibitions in the Münchner Kunstverein and in the Glaspalast in 1883, 1897 and 1899.
Works
As a portraitist, he painted portraits of Prince Leopold of Bavaria , Duke Max Emanuel in Bavaria , King Ferdinand of Bulgaria , the court actor Richter, the machine director Lautenschläger, the chamber singer Klöpfer (the latter three in the gallery of the Munich court theater ) and the prince von Thurn und Taxis for the officers' mess in Regensburg , Otto von Bismarcks (pastel in the Museum zu Altenburg ), as well as numerous tastefully arranged portraits of women. For the Altenburg Castle he painted the "Saxon Prince Robbery " and the "Enfeoffment of Otto von Wittelsbach ", for the Lukas Church in Munich he painted the high altar picture "Entombment of Christ".
