Gustav Bundt

Gustav Georg Bundt , also Gustaf (born March 30, 1867 in Dramburg , † September 17, 1949 in Lübeck ) was a German doctor , medical officer and politician ( DNVP ).

Life

Bundt was born the son of an imperial postmaster. After attending the Royal Fürstin-Hedwig-Gymnasium in Neustettin , he studied medicine at the universities in Greifswald , Erlangen and Berlin . In 1887 he became a member of the Greifswald fraternity Rugia . In 1891 he was the Greifswald University with the dissertation About equivalents of ordinary expressions of mental disorders to Dr. med. doctorate and approved in the same year . He worked as a general practitioner in Belgard an der Persante from 1892 to 1903 and was a district doctor in Bublitz in 1904, in Querfurt from 1904 to 1914 and in Halle from 1914 to 1923 . From 1924 to 1932 he was a senior government and medical councilor in Stettin . He chaired the forensic medical committee in Szczecin, advised the Pomeranian State Welfare Office and was a member of the Prussian State Health Council. Furthermore, he acted from 1922 to 1935 as chairman of the German and Prussian Medical Officials Association, where he had been secretary from 1919 to 1922. Bundt was seen as a proponent of forced sterilization .

In May 1928 he was elected for the German National People's Party (DNVP) as a member of the Prussian state parliament, to which he belonged until 1932. In parliament he represented constituency 6 (Pomerania).

After the Second World War , Bundt fled from Stettin-Neutorney to West Germany as a displaced person and settled in Lübeck, where he died on September 17, 1949. He was buried in the Vorwerk cemetery .
