Gustav Burchard
Gustav Burchard (born December 13, 1859 in Neubukow , † December 15, 1937 in Berlin-Friedenau ; full name: Gerson Gustav Burchard ) was a German actor , writer and director as well as tenant and director of the Bremerhaven City Theater .
biography
Gustav Burchard was the son of a Jewish merchant. He became an actor according to his inclinations and played on various stages. From 1898 he worked as an actor in Bremen . In 1903 he took over the management of the Bremen Opera. From 1907 to 1919 he was the deputy director of the Bremen City Theater . From 1911 to 1919 he was the leaseholder and director of the new Bremerhaven City Theater. In 1919 the Bremerhaven theater was taken over by the city. Burchard was director of the theater from 1919 to 1931. He also wrote dramas , theater reviews , short stories and feature articles .
