Gustav Fuchs (politician)

Gustav Fuchs (born January 2, 1900 in Kraisdorf , † March 21, 1969 in Bamberg ) was a German politician of the CSU .

Life and work

After attending elementary school , Fuchs, who was a Roman Catholic , completed an agricultural training course and took over his parents' farm in 1925. He was a soldier in both world wars. After the Second World War he was involved in the re-establishment of the Bavarian Farmers' Association and from 1953 to 1969 he was President of the Lower Franconia District Association .

Fuchs, a member of BVP in the Weimar Republic , was one of the co-founders of the CSU in the Ebern district after 1945 . From 1945 to 1946 he was mayor of his home town of Kraisdorf and had been a member of the district council in the Ebern district since 1948.

He was a member of the German Bundestag from its first election in 1949 to 1961 and was always directly elected in the constituency of Bad Kissingen . From 1964 to 1969 he was also a member of the Bavarian Senate .

He was awarded the Bavarian Order of Merit on May 14, 1965.
