Gustav Philipp Zwinger
Gustav Philipp Zwinger (born January 3, 1779 in Nuremberg ; † January 15, 1819 there ) was a German painter , etcher and lithographer .
Life
Zwinger, the son of the painter and copper engraver Christoph Johann Sigmund Zwinger , received his artistic training first from his father and later from Johann Eberhard Ihle . 1799–1801 he continued his studies with Heinrich Füger at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna .
Even before 1800, Zwinger was teaching the underage Albert Christoph Reindel , who would later become his successor.
In 1813, Zwinger succeeded his father as head of the municipal drawing school in Nuremberg .

Among other things, he created almanac sheets with scenes from the works of Gotthold Ephraim Lessing and Friedrich Schiller as well as etchings, pen drawings and watercolors .
