Gustav Valsvik (born May 26, 1993 in Vik ) is a Norwegian football player . The central defender is under contract with the Norwegian first division club Rosenborg Trondheim . He is a former Norwegian national team player and previously went through all age groups of the youth teams.

Career

Valsvik had played football for Vik IL , a club based in his birthplace , until 2010 before moving to second division side Sogndal Fotball . In the first season, the club rose and Valsvik played nine point games. After only seven appearances in the first season in the first division, he was a regular player in the 2012 and 2013 seasons. He was also a regular in the 2014 season, but switched to league competitor Strømsgodset IF during this . There he was also a regular player and came to some appearances in the Europa League qualification.

During the 2016 season, Valsvik moved to the second division club Eintracht Braunschweig in the summer . He made his point game debut on August 7, 2016 (1st matchday) in a 2-1 win at home against the Würzburger Kickers ; He scored his first point goal on October 29, 2017 (12th match day) in a 1-1 draw in the away game against Dynamo Dresden with the goal of the final score in the 60th minute.

On December 20, 2018, the former regular defender was released from training with the relegation-threatened Lower Saxony to look for a new club. During the winter transfer period, the Norwegian finally moved home to Rosenborg Trondheim .

National team

Valsvik went through all Norwegian youth national teams from U-16 to U-23. On March 26, 2017, he made his debut in the World Cup qualifier in the 2-0 defeat of the senior team against the national team of Northern Ireland .
