Vegar Eggen Hedenstad in the shirt of the Norwegian U-21 national team

Vegar Eggen Hedenstad (born June 26, 1991 in Elverum ) is a Norwegian football player . He is under contract with Rosenborg BK .

Career

society

Hedenstad began his career in the youth of the Norwegian club Elverum Fotball . In 2006, at the age of 14, he made his men's debut in a game against Mjøndalen IF . In the winter transfer period 2007/08 he moved to Stabæk IF , who played in the top Norwegian league, the Tippeligaen . There he became Norwegian champion in the first year. By the end of the 2011/12 season, Hedenstad had played 94 games for Stabæk Fotball , scoring five goals.

In the summer break of 2012, he moved to the then Bundesliga club SC Freiburg . Due to problems with his groin , however, he was only used a few times. For the 2014/15 season he was loaned to the second division club Eintracht Braunschweig, for which he was used in 23 games. A stay in Braunschweig failed because of the Freiburg veto. For the 2015/16 season he returned to SC Freiburg, which has meanwhile been relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga. For the 2016/17 season he was signed by FC St. Pauli on a free transfer.

After 15 games in the second division, he moved to Norway to Rosenborg BK from Trondheim on February 9, 2017 . He received a four-year contract.

National team

Hedenstad made his debut for the Norwegian national team under coach Lars Christopher Vilsvik in a friendly against Denmark in 2012; the game ended 1-1.

On June 5, 2013, he was shown the red card for a foul in the 44th minute of the opening game of the U-21 European Championship against Israel .
