Gustav von Horn

Gustav Horn , from 1855 von Horn , (born March 13, 1807 in Heidenheim an der Brenz , † December 24, 1886 in Stuttgart ) was a German farmer and politician .

Life

Born as the son of a businessman, after attending grammar school in Hohenheim and doing an internship with a domain tenant at the Hohenheim Agricultural University , he then gained agricultural experience in Silesia before starting to study camera science in Tübingen . During his studies in 1829 he became a member of the fraternity of the fire riders . After completing his studies, he acquired the Möhnhof near Bartholomä in 1832 and leased the castle estate in Ochsenhausen from 1842 , where he also worked as a teacher and director of the newly founded agricultural school. In 1855 he was ennobled for his achievements, especially in his work in the Biberach Oberamt and its agricultural committees . In 1862 he traveled to England for research purposes . From 1868 to 1870 he was a member of the Württemberg House of Representatives for the Ulm office . From 1871 he worked as a country treasurer and wrote numerous articles in magazines.
