The manor house in the 19th century ( Duncker collection )

In 1270, Margrave Otto IV. Signed the church of the village "Roscowe" to the Spandau monastery in a document . The manor later came into the possession of the Bredow family , who also had upper and lower jurisdiction. After 1650 she sold it to Hans Christoph von Katte , whose family owned it until 1945.

The current manor house was built between 1723 and 1727 for Christoph III. Katte erected. A major renovation took place between 1880 and 1890, during which rich architectural decorations were added.

After the Second World War in 1945, the castle including the manor with an agricultural area of 575 hectares was expropriated by the Soviet administration as part of the land reform . The owner at that time was Albert von Katte. The manor house was initially used as accommodation for refugees, among other things. Later the building became the school building of the Polytechnic High School . This was called Fritz Schmenkel . In 1968 the building was renovated in connection with its use as a school. After the end of the GDR , polytechnical comprehensive schooling was abolished in the state of Brandenburg and the school was converted into a primary school in 1992. The Roskow elementary school gave up the building in 2004 due to a decline in the number of pupils and a considerable need for renovation.

After a few years of vacancy, Bodo bought Krug von Nidda , son of Gisela born in 2010 . von Katte, the property and park from the community. He began with the interior renovation and has been managing the castle since then as an event center under the name "Kulturschloss Roskow" for cultural events, art exhibitions and private celebrations. The former manor house is used by the community and for private business (including a hairdressing salon).
