Héctor Castro (born February 10, 1976 in Guadalajara , Jalisco ), also known by the nickname El Pirata , is a former Mexican football player who initially played in the position of defender and lastly in midfield .

Life

"El Pirata" Castro began playing football in the youth division of his home club Chivas Guadalajara , for which he made his debut in the Mexican Primera División on October 2, 1996 in a home game against the capital club Cruz Azul , which was won 1-0. At the end of his first season with the Chivasi , he won the championship of Torneo Verano 1997 , the second round tournament of the 1996/97 season, in which he was only used four times and only in the away game at Necaxa (1: 1) on April 10, 1997 disputed the full distance of 90 minutes. He became a regular player in the following half-season (Invierno 1997), in which he completed 14 missions and scored his first goal in the Primera División on August 3, 1997 in the derby against Tecos UAG (3-2).

After four years at Chivas, Castro moved to CF Monterrey in the summer of 2000 , with whom he was under contract for the next four years and with whom he won his second championship title in the Clausura 2003 and this time was one of the regular players in the championship team.

For the 2004/05 season he moved to Monarcas Morelia . He then returned to Chivas, this time being parked first and foremost with their branch teams Chivas USA and Chivas Coras , before returning to the first team at the end of Apertura 2006 , for which he played the quarter and semi-finals in the championship finals denied.

In the summer of 2006 he returned to the second-rate Primera División 'A' , where he was under contract with Club León for at least the 2006/07 season . He played his last season in the Primera División in the 2009/10 season in the service of Gallos Blancos Querétaro , where he made 23 appearances again.
