The Hörndl is 2852  m above sea level. A. high summit in the Granatspitz group , part of the Hohe Tauern in Salzburg .

It lies on a ridge that extends from the Hochgasser mountain ( 2922  m ) over the Fürleg ( 2784  m ) to the north to the Huggachköpf ( 2477  m ). To the west of this ridge is the Felbertal , to the east is the Amertal, which branches off from it. At its end, below the summit, there is the north portal of the Felbertauern tunnel .

The ascent of the Hörndl can be easily done from the St. Pöltner Hütte ( 2481  m above sea level ) in good weather conditions . The walking time is two hours and is described as easy in current literature. The Hörndl is rarely visited and therefore has only a few entries in its summit book.
