Hülsten is a district of the municipality of Reken in the western Münsterland in the northwest of North Rhine-Westphalia and belongs to the Borken district .

The place is southeast of Groß Reken . The Boombach flows through the village . The southwest 0.5 extends ha large protected area (NSG) Hülstenholter Wacholderheide and southeast 2.6 hectare NSG Hülstener Wacholderheide .

history

Hülsten was initially one of three independent communities in what is now Reken. On July 1, 1969, the place was then combined with Klein Reken and Groß Reken to today's Reken.

Attractions

  • In the list of monuments in Reken one is for Hülsten monument listed: The Kriegerehrenmal Hülsten (Monument No. 14; Location:. Boom / K 12) contains the names of the fallen soldiers of the 1st and the 2nd World War .
  • The building of today's chapel "Maria Königin" was built in 1907 and served the then still independent community of Hülsten as a two-class elementary school until 1953 . The building has been used as a chapel since 1955 and is also available for neighborhood services, anniversaries, weddings and baptisms.
