The Renault DeZir (from the French Désir ; German: Begierde, Wunsch ) is a design study by the French vehicle manufacturer Renault , which was presented at the Paris Motor Show in 2010. It has the project code Z24.

With this car, the new head designer at Renault, Laurens van den Acker , wanted to "make his fundamental statement for the future design line at Renault-Design". The same team that developed the DeZir created the redesigned small car Renault Clio IV .

design

The sports car study is based on the platform of the Renault Mégane Trophy , over which a tubular space frame and a carbon body were stretched. Their c w value is 0.25. Two scissor doors provide access to the vehicle interior .

engine

The vehicle received a rear-mounted electric motor with 110 kW and a maximum torque of 226  Nm . This should enable a sprint from 0 to 100 km / h in five seconds. It is limited to 180 km / h. The battery stores 24 kWh, which means a range of 160 km is achieved.

It takes eight hours to charge the batteries from a conventional household socket and 20 minutes from a 400-volt, three-phase power socket. Changing the battery using the Quickdrop system takes three minutes.

Specialty

Renault has worked with a research institute to develop an acoustic signature to warn other road users about the low noise of the engine; the driver is offered a self-programmable soundscape.
