HD 85512 (also Gliese 370 ) is a single, orange main sequence star (K5 V), which is about 37 light years away from Earth and is located in the constellation Vela .

On August 19, 2011, the High Accuracy Radial Velocity Planet Searcher (HARPS) found that HD 85512 has a planet with a weight of 3.6 Earth masses, which is "just within" the habitat zone . The planet, HD 85512 b , could potentially be cool enough for liquid water if the planet has more than 50% cloudiness.
