HD 92938 is a star in the open star cluster IC 2602 . Because of the similarity of this star cluster to the Pleiades , IC 2602 is sometimes referred to as the "southern Pleiades".

The star is located in the constellation Carina and is a main sequence star with spectral class B3V. It is located about 430  ly . The star is also a variable star .
