HTC Wildfire is the name of a line of smartphones with the Android operating system manufactured by HTC Corporation .

Wildfire

The HTC Wildfire is the first model in the series. It has a 528 MHz processor and was initially supplied with version 2.1 of the Android operating system. Version 2.2.1 was released on December 20, 2010.

It looks similar to the Nexus One smartphone (also manufactured by HTC on behalf of Google Inc. ) and HTC Desire . In contrast to the Nexus One, HTC's own Sense user interface is installed on the Wildfire , which is also used on the HTC HD2 Windows smartphone, among other things . It also differs from the Nexus One by the optical trackpoint , in the place of which a mechanical control element is built into the Nexus One.

The device offers a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, Bluetooth , WLAN , a GPS receiver, an acceleration sensor and a compass . The display resolution is 240 × 320 pixels.

The name Wildfire was chosen by users via a survey on Facebook.

The newer version is the HTC Wildfire S , with twice the screen resolution and Android 2.3. It was released in the second quarter of 2011.
