Haaren is part of the municipality of Bad Wilsnack in the Prignitz district and is part of the Bad Wilsnack / Weisen district .

location

Haaren is located in the Elbetal Nature Park in Brandenburg on the district road 7007. It is 3.8 km to Bad Wilsnack in the southwest and 5 km to Groß Werzin in the north. After Plattenburg in the southeast there is about 3 km.

history

Haaren was first mentioned as a village with a mill in 1316 under the name Horne . In 1422 the name appeared as Vor deme Horne . Horne means stove or pottery furnace in Slavic and indicates the Slavic origin of the place. In 1499 it was said in a document desert mill site at the hair , which suggests that the mill or the entire site without form had fallen. The Haaren Vorwerk is documented as the Little Hahren from 1707 . It belonged to the Kletzke estate district . On October 1, 1928, the property came to the community of Grube .

During the GDR era, Haaren was incorporated into Bad Wilsnack as a district in 1971 and belonged to the Magdeburg district . With the new formation of federal states after reunification , Bad Wilsnack came to the state of Brandenburg with hair .

On the occasion of the 700th anniversary of hair, the residents put up a memorial stone with an inscription and planted a beech tree . The stone was made from the foundations of a field stone barn that was demolished in 2010 and was ceremoniously inaugurated on a newly created green area near the mill.

economy

The few inhabitants of the place operate agriculture and live from it. It is remarkable that a family has been growing tobacco on around 18 hectares since the 21st century  . After the harvest, it goes to a cigarette factory in Karlsruhe for further processing (Leo Metzger cigarette factory).

The mill mentioned in historical documents is a symbolic replica in the place. Haaren is known for its flea market, which took place on a private meadow for the seventh time in 2016. In addition, since 2005 the local citizens have been organizing a rock music festival called Nurse Rock (t) , which attracts several hundred people every year.
