Haelen ( listen ? / I ) is a church village in the Dutch province of Limburg . It is located near Roermond on the left of the Meuse on the N273 national road. Haelen has 4,265 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2018). Audio file / audio sample

Former municipality of Haelen

On January 1, 2007, the previously independent municipality of Haelen merged with three others to form the municipality of Leudal . In addition to the town of Haelen, where the administrative seat was located, the former municipality also included the villages of Buggenum (940 inhabitants), Horn (3972 inhabitants) and Nunhem (688 inhabitants).
