Hafız Hakkı Pascha (* 1879 in Bitola , † February 15, 1915 in Erzurum ) was an Ottoman general in the battle of Sarıkamış .

Hakkı Pascha was born in 1879 in Manastır (Bitola) , then part of the Ottoman Empire . He graduated from the Military Academy (Harp Akademisi) in İstanbul in 1903 as the best in his class, his classmate Enver Pascha was second best.

He took part in the Balkan War in 1912 and wrote books on the military. At 23, Hakkı became a captain (kurmay yüzbaşı) . He was a military attaché in Vienna for a while .

Enver Pascha ordered Hakkı Pascha to be division commander (tümen komutanı) for the Sarıkamış mission. Hakkı Pasha was promoted to Colonel (Albay) at this point .

On January 8, 1915, Enver Pascha dismissed the commander of the Third Army Hasan İzzet Pasha because he criticized his plans in Sarıkamış, and handed over the command to Hakkı Pascha.

Like many soldiers who took part in the Battle of Sarıkamış, Hafız Hakkı Pasha fell ill with typhus in February 1915 . He was treated in the hospital in Erzurum, but died on February 15, 1915 of the consequences of the illness.

Hafız Hakkı married Behiye Sultan, a granddaughter of Sultan Murad V. Thus Hakkı became Damad-ı Şehriyârî (German: Bridegroom of the Sultan) .
