Hakkı Bulut (born February 3, 1945 in Aktarla ) is a Turkish singer and actor. He is one of the co-founders of arabesque music and, with over 60 published studio albums, one of the most successful and popular singers of this genre.

biography

Bulut was born in Aktarla, a village in the district of Mazgirt , in 1945 and attended the local elementary school. As a child, Bulut was interested in music and began to sing. Because of his voice, which was already noticed at the time, he often had to sing songs to friends in the village. He later attended schools in Tunceli , Mazgirt, Adana and Ceyhan . After graduating from school in Adana in 1964, he became a teacher and practiced this profession for 12 years in Hatay and Adana, but continued to occupy himself with music.

In 1967 he released his little-noticed first album, which was titled Leyla . The then unknown singers Orhan Gencebay and Arif Sağ can also be heard on this album as Saz players.

After he won a singing competition in Adana in 1969, a music label offered him a record deal for 50 lira , which he signed. His second album İkimiz Bir Fidanız was released in the same year and was recorded in Istanbul . With his single İkimiz Bir Fidanın Güller Açan Dalıyız he finally made his breakthrough. His most famous songs today include İkimiz Bir Fidanız , Ben Buyum , Ben Tövbemi Geri Aldım , Son Mektup , İtirizam Var . Since 1977 he can also be seen as an actor in feature films.

Today Bulut, despite his comparatively old age, is one of the most active musicians in Turkey, new studio albums are always released at short intervals. In an interview published on July 24, 2016 on the website of the television station Ülke , Bulut said that he loves his job and will publish albums "until he is 120".

Private

Bulut is married for the ninth time and has four daughters and one son. He lives in Bahçelievler , a district on the European side of Istanbul.

Because of chest discomfort, Bulut had to be admitted to a hospital in early August 2018, where atherosclerosis was diagnosed, which is why he was operated on quickly. He was then in the intensive care unit for another week, and his condition is stable again.
