Hallbjørn Rønning

Hallbjørn Rønning (born May 30, 1950 in Trondheim ) is a Norwegian actor .

Life

Rønning graduated from Strinda Gymnasium in Trondheim in 1969. He completed an acting training at the Rogaland Teater in Stavanger . He then worked at Nordland Teater in Mo i Rana and at Hålogaland Teater in Tromsø .

In 1975 he was hired by Trøndelag Teater in Trondheim, where he is still a permanent member of the ensemble. Rønning made his debut at Trøndelag Teater as Bassanio in The Merchant of Venice by William Shakespeare . In recent years Rønning has played there in plays by Henrik Ibsen , August Strindberg and in a stage version of John Steinbeck's Von Mäusen und Menschen .

He demonstrated his musical talent in the pieces Forever Plaid , Comedian Harmonists and En time uten sex . He also appeared in the musical Chicago by John Kander .

He played in the musical cabaret Taube with texts and songs by the Swedish poet Evert Taube .

In Hamburg , Rotterdam and Antwerp he made guest appearances with the monologue Takoradi-en sjømanns historie by Torvald Sund . Rønning also performed in Oslo with Min största smärtas barn , a scenic-dramatic reading of August Strindberg's correspondence with his third wife Harriet Bosse . In 2009 he worked at Trøndelag Teater in the production Hal toppseil - en hyllest til Erik Bye , a literary and musical homage to the Norwegian journalist and singer Erik Bye .

In 2004 he starred in the Norwegian short film I Himmelen som på jorden , which was shown at several international film festivals and received the award for best film at the Clone Digital Film Festival. He has also appeared in several films and television productions.

Rønning has recorded 120 audio books , including works by Ken Follett , Jan Guillou and Alistair MacLean . In addition to his mother tongue, he speaks German and English.

He is married to the Norwegian actress Wenche Strømdahl , with whom he often appears together.
