Strömsholm Castle.

Hallstahammar is a municipality ( Swedish kommun ) in the Swedish province of Västmanland County and the historic province of Västmanland . The main town of the municipality is Hallstahammar .

The European route 18 runs through the municipality from Stockholm to Oslo as well as the Kolbäck – Oxelösund and Stockholm – Örebro railway lines .

geography

The municipality is one of the smallest municipalities in Sweden in terms of area and stretches along the Kolbäcksån river , which forms numerous rapids in the municipality and flows into the Mälaren at Strömsholm . The Sörkvarnsforsen rapids are protected as a nature reserve. The Strömsholm Canal runs parallel to the river . Strömsholm in the south of the municipality is dominated by Strömsholm Castle , which is now a riding center in Sweden.
