Haluk Tezonar

Haluk Tezonar (* 1942 in Çorlu ; † December 31, 1995 ) was a Turkish sculptor.

Work and life

Tezoner studied ceramics at the Istanbul Devlet Tatbiki Yüksek Okulu University . There he was influenced in his art by the sculptor Hakkı Karayiğitoğlu . In 1965 he graduated from there and became an assistant at the same college. He later worked as a lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts at Marmara University .

On the 150th anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven's death on May 22, 1977, Tezonar took part in the Beethoven Week in Bonn and exhibited 20 reliefs and busts of Beethoven made by him.

Tezonar is one of the sculptors in Turkey who created most of the Ataturk statues.

The sculptor was a Freemason and a member of the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Turkey .
