Hamgyeong-do (Japanese Kankyo ) was one of the eight provinces in Korea and was located in the northeast of the country. It was founded in 1413 and divided into Hamgyeongbuk-do and Hamgyeongnam-do in 1896 . Their capital was Hamheung . Hamgyeong bordered China in the north, the Sea of ​​Japan in the east, and Pyeongan-do in the south and west.
