Hana Mandlíková is the daughter of the athlete Vilém Mandlík, who was in the semifinals of the 200 m track (athletics) at the 1956 Olympic Games in Melbourne. Hana married the Australian restorer Jan Sedlak in 1986. The couple divorced after two years, shortly after Mandlíková received Australian citizenship. In June 2001 she became the mother of twins (son and daughter), whose father is a friend of hers. Daughter Elisabeth also plays tennis and is trained by her mother.
Mandlíková lives with the children and her partner, fitness trainer Liz Resseguie, in Florida .
Career
Mandlíková won 27 singles and 19 doubles titles in her professional career, and she won 22 of her singles titles on the WTA Tour . She also won four Grand Slam titles in singles and one in doubles; she was another four times in singles and three times in doubles in the finals of a Grand Slam tournament.
Mandlíková played in the Fed Cup for the Czechoslovak team between 1978 and 1987 . Of her 61 games she won 49; their individual balance shows 34: 6 wins (double: 15: 6). Mandlíková won the Fed Cup three times (1983–1985) with the team.
After her professional career, which lasted from 1978 to 1990, she worked as a tennis trainer, taking care of Jana Novotná , among other things . In 1994 she was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame .
