Commercial and commercial bank (Heilbronn)
The building of the former trading and commercial bank (today WÜBA ) in Karlstrasse 70-72 in Heilbronn was built in the neoclassical style. The building stands as a cultural monument under monument protection .
Building description
The building was created in 1923 by Hermann Steus for the commercial and commercial bank. The three-story building has a hipped roof with dormers . Its facade is made of plaster and is structured both symmetrically and horizontally . Furthermore, the architect used an axially arranged window arrangement, with the center of the facade being emphasized by a central projection. At the top, a cornice , cornice and a gable have been attached. The building's entrance loggia is crowned by a balcony with a balustrade .
In the 1950s the building served as the main administration for Württembergische und Badische Versicherungs-Aktiengesellschaft . During this time the interior of the house was redesigned by Julius Hoffmann in the baroque style according to the Stuttgart school of Paul Schmitthenner . The building is therefore "a typical feature of the early phase of post-war reconstruction in Württemberg [...] established by Paul Schmitthenner's school in Stuttgart."
