Hannah Taylor-Gordon (born March 6, 1987 in London ) is a British film actress .

Life

Han (her nickname) grew up in London as the eldest of seven siblings. Her parents are Andrew Gordon (entrepreneur) and Claire Gordon (housewife). Her cousin is the actor Benedict Cumberbatch .

Hannah Taylor Gordon (the Taylor-Gordon spelling has become common in the media, but incorrect) has never attended drama school. She was already in front of the film camera when she was 6 years old. In Bille August's drama “ Das Geisterhaus ” she embodied the young Blanca Trueba, alongside great actors such as Meryl Streep , Antonio Banderas and Glenn Close . A year later, in 1994 , Hannah impersonated "Young Elizabeth" in " Mary Shelley's Frankenstein ". This was also followed by smaller roles in films such as Mansfield Park , until 1999 she impersonated Lina Kronstein in Peter Kassovitz's Holocaust drama “ Jakob the Liar ”. Hannah Taylor Gordon achieved her international breakthrough in 2001 with her portrayal of the Jew Anne Frank in Robert Dornhelm's " Anne Frank ". For this role she was nominated for a Golden Globe and also for an Emmy . Four of her younger siblings, Felix, Leo, Alec and Talya also played in “Anne Frank”. Hannah Taylor Gordon attended a girls' school in London run by Roman Catholic nuns . She then studied art history at University College London . At the same time, she continued to work on her acting career, especially in the theater in recent years.

One of her last film projects was the TV remake of the monumental film classic " The Ten Commandments ". As with “Anne Frank”, the film was directed again by Robert Dornhelm .
