Hanne Koehler

Hanne Köhler (* 1958 in Miltenberg ) is a German Protestant theologian. She became known through numerous publications of liturgical texts and for the organization of services, as well as the editor of the Bible in fair language .

Life and focus of work

Hanne Köhler was born in Miltenberg in 1958 and grew up in Hochheim am Main . From 1977 to 1983 she studied Protestant theology at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz and at the Ruprecht-Karls-University in Heidelberg and was a scholarship holder of the Evangelisches Studienwerk Villigst . In 1983 she passed the first theological exam at the Evangelical Church in Hesse and Nassau and continued her studies at the United Theological Seminary in Dayton (Ohio) / USA with the help of a grant from the World Council of Churches . After graduating with the Master of Divinity in 1984, a teaching vicariate followed in Schwalbach am Taunus and the second theological exam in 1986. From 1987 to 1991, Hanne Köhler worked as a parish pastor in a district of Neu-Isenburg . She then worked from 1991 to 2001 as a consultant for church services in the advice center for church services and other community events (today: Center Annunciation of the EKHN ) in Frankfurt am Main , and in recent years also as its director. From 2001 to 2006 she was responsible for the Bible in Just Language project at the Evangelical Academy Arnoldshain .

Hanne Köhler became known as the author of liturgical texts and drafts for services. Her aim is to combine tradition and innovation . It is particularly important to her to use a contemporary language in worship that takes on board the realities of life and people's experiences. Your liturgical texts and suggestions are not only taken up in the Evangelical regional churches of the EKD , but also in others, such as B. the Roman Catholic Church or the Evangelical Reformed Churches in Switzerland . From 2002 to 2007 she was co-editor of the magazine for worship and sermon (ZGP).

Hanne Köhler is an ordained pastor of the Evangelical Church in Hesse and Nassau, married and the mother of two sons.
