Luc Recordon (born September 20, 1955 in Pully , Canton of Vaud ) is a Swiss politician ( Greens ) and was a member of the Council of States from 2007 to 2015 .

In the second round of the Council of States election in the canton of Vaud on November 11, 2007, Recordon won the seat of the resigning Christiane Langenberger (FDP) with 86,350 votes.
On November 23, 2007, the Green parliamentary group announced that it would run Luc Recordon against Federal Councilor Christoph Blocher for the Federal Council elections in December 2007 . This candidacy was clearly confirmed by the assembly of delegates of the Greens on December 1, 2007. As announced, Recordon finally withdrew the candidacy in the elections when it became clear that Eveline Widmer-Schlumpf would have a chance against Christoph Blocher.
Recordon was again put up as a candidate by the green parliamentary group for the 2008 Federal Council election . After the first ballot, he announced the suspension of his candidacy and called for the election of Hansjörg Walter .
In the 2015 federal elections , Recordon came in second on October 18, but fell short of an absolute majority. In the second ballot on November 8, 2015, he was defeated by the FDP candidate Olivier Français . His election result would have been enough for a seat in the National Council; Recordon, however, waived in favor of the previous Adèle Thorens Goumaz and announced his resignation from national politics.
Recordon was born with stunted shins due to a rare genetic abnormality ( Holt-Oram syndrome ) and has two prostheses.
