Olivier Français

Olivier Français (born October 1, 1955 in Metz , France ; resident in Lausanne ) is a Swiss politician ( FDP ) and has been a member of the Council of States since 2015 .

Français worked in the legislature of the city of Lausanne from 1994 to 2000 and in the executive branch since 2000. There he heads the building services department as a member of the Lausannensemble list , an association of the FDP and CVP . He was also a member of the cantonal parliament of the canton of Vaud from 1998 to 2007 . Since the 2007 elections, he is in the National Council , where member of the Control Committee and the Commission of Public Works. In the 2015 elections , he was elected to the Council of States in the second ballot against the previous Luc Recordon ( Greens ). He was confirmed in the 2019 elections .

Olivier Français lives in Lausanne, is married and has three children. He was a French citizen until his naturalization .
