François Pointet (born June 25, 1969 in Lausanne ) is a Swiss politician ( GLP ) and was elected to the National Council on October 20, 2019.

Life and education

François Pointet obtained his PhD in mathematics in 1997 after graduating from the University of Lausanne . He then pursued a career in computer science. He lives in Jongny , is married and has two daughters.

Political career

François Pointet began his political activities in 2010 by founding the Vaudois section of the Green Liberal Party . He has been President of this cantonal section since 2014. He has also been a member of the Grand Council of the Canton of Vaud since 2017 . In 2019, the GLP Vaud received a second seat in the National Council, François Pointet was elected alongside National Councilor Isabelle Chevalley .
